Streetworkers Kerry and Elbia with students Martha and Abigail at Spanish Nite 2008

In March, Streetworkers students Martha and Abigail attended Spanish Nite 2008 at the Embassy Suites in Downtown Winston-Salem.  Both girls volunteered at the annual fundraising event that recognizes and awards Hispanic ESL students with college scholarships, and their service helped make the event a huge success!

The Streetworkers Program has worked with a young man, Bizmar, and his family for nearly a year. When the Streetworkers had started working with Bizmar, his family was living in a cramped house in need of many repairs. Recently, with the encouragement of the Streetworkers, his family has moved into a beautiful home that suites the needs and size of his family, located in a better environment for Bizmar and his brothers and sisters.
