Officially titled “Brussels Waffles”, the name Belgian Waffle came into existence due to the simple fact that many people knew nothing of Brussels—the capital of Belgium where the waffles originated. These waffles were first introduced to America in 1964 during the New York World’s Fair. Ever since, these light battered pieces of joy have been eaten at breakfast tables all across the U.S.
The authentic way to make this delicious snack, which is sold from street venders in Brussels to this day, and not just for Text Box: Some of the many different styles to make a waffle.
